Five questions to ask before adding AI to your product

Most AI features fail not because of the model, but because they sit in the wrong place. Five questions that help you put intelligence where it actually pays off.

AI is on every product roadmap now. But most teams start with the wrong question: which model should we use? In our experience the secret of a successful AI feature isn't the model, it's the placement. Before adding AI to your product, we suggest asking these five questions.

1. Which decision or task should get faster?

"Our product should have AI" isn't a goal. The goal is to ease a moment where users get stuck today: finding the right product, filling in a form, reading a report, answering a customer on time. Find that moment first; the choice of model comes after.

2. How is this done today, and how long does it take?

You can't measure the gain without measuring today. Write down how many steps, minutes and people the task takes now, and write the target for after AI in the same units.

3. What happens when the AI is wrong?

Every model is wrong sometimes. What matters is an interface where users notice and correct it: showing sources, saying when it isn't sure, leaving the decision with the user and handing over to a person when needed. A good AI feature doesn't hide its mistakes.

4. What data will it use, and who owns that data?

AI is only as good as what it is given. Settle early which content, records and rules it will work with, how personal data is protected and which obligations such as GDPR or KVKK apply. This isn't a technical question; it's a product question.

5. Will it speak in your brand's voice?

To users, an assistant or a recommendation screen is part of the brand. A feature that talks like a generic bot makes even the best-designed interface feel ordinary. Define tone, wording and limits together with your brand.

In short

Treat AI as a working product feature, not a presentation slide: in the right place, with a measurable goal, with an interface that handles its mistakes, and in your brand's voice. If you'd like to answer these five questions together, we can start in an intro call.
