UX audit cost: what affects the price, and what you should get for it
There is no single price for a UX audit. Scope, number of flows, data access and the type of report decide it. What to agree before you start, and what a useful audit delivers.
The first question about a UX audit is usually cost, but the answer is not a single number. A few factors decide the price, and agreeing them up front protects both budget and expectations.
What affects the price?
- Scope: a single flow (such as checkout) or the whole product?
- Number of screens and platforms: are web, mobile and admin reviewed separately?
- Data access: will analytics and usage data be included? Data backs the findings with numbers.
- Accessibility check: is a detailed check against WCAG wanted?
- Type of report: a findings list only, or fix designs as well?
- Presentation and follow-up: will the findings be presented to your team, and will there be support while fixes are made?
What should a good audit deliver?
- For each finding: a screenshot, why it is a problem, its impact and a suggested fix.
- A priority list ranked by impact and effort to fix.
- Quick wins your team can start on in the first week.
- A walkthrough of the findings with time for questions.
What to agree before you start
- Which flows are in scope, and which are not?
- What access is needed (the product, a test environment, analytics)?
- When and in what form is it delivered (report, walkthrough, fix designs)?
- Who makes the fixes afterwards?
We agree the scope with you and price against it; we don't discuss price apart from scope. To find where your product loses people, see our UX audit page, or book an intro call. The audit is fully remote, and the UK is only two to three hours behind Istanbul.
